We Come in Peace is a collaborative Installation that will unite a cross section of galleries, artists and independent DIY culture, in the form of zines, books and printed matter. Far from being removed we seek to create a public forum in which visitors can learn about art, interact with artists and be inspired by the potential of their own creativity. The show will feature contributions from galleries small press publishers and artists working together to build a zine fort created specifically as part of the Silver Lake Jubilee with over 100 zines, art and hands on workshop. The public is invited to come out view, make art with and experience the culture of artists in their community and beyond.

Over the last 5 years Blood is the New Black has evolved from a 16 piece collection featuring 2 artists to an art powerhouse showcasing the talent of more than two dozen accomplished designers illustrators and photographers, having worked with the likes of photographer Dan Monick, illustrator Travis Millard and fashion designer Brian Lichtenberg.

BITNB encourages the public to explore current art and design trends by prominently featuring the artists' work on their wearable line of products. Devotedly curated rather than conveniently selected owner Mitra Khayyam has a knack for linking a particular culture of emerging artists, allowing the audience to participate in and wear something as real and raw as the artist intended. Their five year anniversary provides BITNB and Junc the perfect opportunity expand on this philosophy by organizing a gallery exhibition of the artists that have contributed to their success. We are excited to bring such a diverse level of talent together and we're positive that the results will bear out our exhilaration. Hope to see you there!
